About the Owner
Academic Background
Brandon Stokes received his PhD in African American & Africana Diaspora Studies from Indiana University. His research focus is on housing and urban development concerning African Americans on Chicago’s southside with an emphasis on the intersection of race and class. Brandon’s work has been published in Black Perspectives the online Journal for the African American Intellectual History Society and in the National Council for Black Studies Annual Report. Previously, Brandon was a 2022 Black Metropolis Research Consortium Short Term Research Fellow and a 2022-2023 Indiana University Graduate Pathways Fellow. Currently, Brandon is Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Associate at UIUC.
